Arsenal cemented their lead at the top of the Premier League with a narrow 1-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday.

Gabriel Martinelli was the scorer of the lone goal a minute after resumption after Leandro Trossard’s goal in the first half had been chalked off for infringement on keeper Danny Ward.

The Gunners thought they had taken the lead in 26 minutes through Leandro Trossard’s curling shot from outside the box, but VAR intervened and found a foul in the preceding corner.

Leicester had a goal of their own chalked off too as Kelechi Iheanacho’s strike was ruled out for offside after he thought he had handed the home side an equalizer.

In another game of the day, Leeds United recorded a huge 1-0 win over relegation rivals Southampton to climb out of the relegation zone.

After a nervy contest for much of the proceedings, Elland Road was sent wild with just over 10 minutes remaining through an unlikely source as Junior Firpo grabbed his first league goal. Jack Harrison flicked into his path and the defender got forward to beat Gavin Bazunu with a low finish for the winner.
