Harry Kane extended his goalscoring record for England as they beat Ukraine 2-0 in a Euro 2024 Qualifiers staged on Sunday evening.

Ukraine had traveled to the UK using overnight trains as flights to and from the beleaguered nation are not available.

England took the lead in the 41st minute when Bukayo Saka collected the ball to swing an inch-perfect cross for Harry Kane to stab home his 55th goal for country. Three minutes later, Saka drifted inside to fire a delightful left-footed shot into the top corner for 2-0 at the break.

Ivan Toney came on for his England debut with ten minutes remaining, replacing Kane in Gareth Southgate’s winning 11. By featuring for England, Toney became the first Brentford player in over 80 years to win an England cap.

The win leaves England top of Group C with six points from their opening two matches.
