Harambee Stars midfielder Anthony Akumu was among the goalscorers as Sagan Tosu emerged 2-1 winners over Jubilo Iwata in a J-League Cup game on Wednesday afternoon.

Akumu gave Tosu a sixth minute lead with the goal being the difference in the first half of the game. While everything pointed pout to a Iwata were to level matters nine minutes from time through Ogawa but Kabayama ensured that Tosu were safe from any shocks as he regained the visitors lead five minutes later.

Akumu who started the game was withdrawn in the 56th minute for Kawahara with the former Gor MAhia man hoping that he will get more minutes when they take on Sanfrecce Hiroshima this weekend in a league game.

The Kenyan who started the game against Iran last week for Harambee Stars, has only featured in two games for his new side since joining them Iin January with all the games coming in the cup competition. He is yet to clock any minutes in the league  having only featured just 11 times in his lasts eason with Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa.
