Alfred Scriven featured in the entire game as IL Hodd opened their season with a 1-0 win over Raufoss in the Norwegian 1. Division on Monday evening.

Hosts Hodd got their all important goal twenty minutes from time after Westerlund turned the ball in his own net. The win puts them at fifth place on the log with Sandnes Ulf, Bryne, Ranheim and Fredristad also winning their opening day games.

Scriven will be hoping for the same outing and more minutes under his belt when they travel to Skeid for their next league game.

In other games involving Kenyans on Monday, Eric Ouma was withdrawn in the 64th minute as AIK went 3-0 down to Norrkoping in a Swedish top flight game staged on Monday. AIK has now lost ttheir first two games of the season and will be hoping things change when they host Hammarby in their next league game.

In Qatar, Michael Olunga scored in the penalty shootout as Al Duhail were eliminated from the Qatari Cup competition after falling 5-4 to Al Saliya in post match penalties following a 2-2 draw in normal time.

In the MLS Next Pro League, Richard Odada managed the full minutes for Philadelphia Union II as they went 5-1 down to New England II with Phillip Mayaka managing the same number of minutes in Crown Legacy’s 3-1 win over New York Red Bulls II.
