English Championship side Burnley FC has handed manager Vincent Kompany a new five year deal the club has confirmed.
“Burnley Football Club is delighted to announce that manager Vincent Kompany has signed a new contract to extend his commitment with the club. After a Championship winning year in his first season in charge at Turf Moor the manager has signed a new five year deal,” Burnley said in a statement.

On his part, Kompany said: “Burnley and Turf Moor felt right pretty much from the start – so it also feels right to sign for the next five years.
“Together with the fans we have made Turf Moor a fortress again and continue to look forward to the future and the job of making Burnley better with every step.”
Kompany led the Clarets to a title winning campaign in the Championship, earning automatic promotion back to the Premier League and was at one time linked with the vacant managerial position at Chelsea.
Apart from Chelsea, there has been plenty of speculation that the former Manchester City star could move to a club up the pecking order in the Premier League.
