Manchester United keeper David de Gea has won the Premier League golden glove award for season 2022/23.
The shot-stopper has been blamed for a series of errors this season but kept his 16th clean sheet of the league season in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.
A lot of criticism has been put on the keeper with the award said to be the good work done by his defence for the better part of the season when both Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane were fit for games.

De Gea became the sixth goalkeeper to win the award more than once, having kept 18 clean sheets in 2017/18. He joins a list that includes Petr Cech, Joe Hart, Ederson, Pepe Reina and Alisson Becker.
There is still a chance for Alisson, Aaron Ramsdale or Nick Pope can finish on 16 clean sheets, with three games remaining this season, but nobody can get more than De Gea. They would all need to keep a clean sheet in all of their remaining matches and hope that De Gea concedes in all of his.
De Gea was presented with his Golden Glove trophy at Old Trafford by former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
