Vihiga Queens are the 2022/23 FKF Women Premier League Champions following their 2-1 win over Nakuru City Queens in their game staged on Sunday at the Nakuru ASK Grounds.

Anota Namata scored a goal each in either half despite Nakuru having had equalized just two minutes after the resumption in the game. The win means that the Legacy Makers are on 52 points heading into the last game of the season with Gaspo Women, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Wadadia on the same day, having 47 points.

While the title was wrapped, the relegation battle will be taken to the last day of the season after Kisumu Allstarlets went 3-1 down to Zetech Sparks with Trans Nzoia Falcons emerging 2-1 winners over Bunyore Starlets.

The results mean that Allstarlets will have to win their final game of the season against Falcons with the hope that Nakuru City Queens can beat Bunyore Starlets for them on the same day.

Falcons after their 2-1 win over Bunyore are on 29 points, Bunyore and Allstarlets after their losses on Sunday are on 25 and 23 points respectively.
