Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has returned to Al Duhail for their preseason training despite his contract with the Qatari-based side elapsing last month.

Olunga has strongly been linked with a move away from Duhail this summer with clubs in Greece and Turkey said to be interested in his services but the player has remained coy on his next move instead concentrating on his academy (MOFA) during the summer break.

The return to Duhail intimates that the player might be angling at a new deal at the club having been the league’s top scorer for two consecutive seasons.

Duhail who are the Stars League current champions has already bolstered their ranks by signing highly rated Italian youngster Ibra Bamba from Portuguese side Guimaraes, Mohamed Emad from Al Rayyan, and Al Shamal’s Rabh Bousssafi.

At the same time, they have parted ways with players including Mohamed Alaa, Al Bakry, Rabeh, Al Rawi, Ali Malallah, Al Ahraq, and Afif.

The team is currently at their Duhail base but will leave for a training camp in Austria on 23 July.
