Everything is now set for the fourth edition of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba Football Tournament that commences earlier in the month in the Western Region.
The tournament had been dented by a few postponements this season but the organizer together with the Football Kenya Federation met on Tuesday to chart a way forward for the fruition of the same.

According to the Federation, the meeting was aimed at discussing the modalities of the tournament and how it can be conducted in a bigger and better manner.
“Safaricom has done this for us and we must say a big Thank You. It’s our job now to give young players across the country a chance to showcase their talent,” FKF President Nick Mwendwa said in the meeting held at the Michael Joseph Center.

The tournament kicked off in the Western region on July 8, 2023, with Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, and Vihiga counties staging their sub-county final matches; the finals of the regions set to take place in a date to be decided soon.
After the Western Circuit, Nyanza will be the next region for the showpiece with the County finalists proceeding to the regional finals for both the boys’ and girls categories.
County winners in both the girls’ and boys’ categories will receive Kshs 75,000 each, and Kshs 30,000 each for the runners up. Regional winners will walk home with Kshs 250,000, with the runners-up receiving Kshs 150,000.
At the national stage, the semifinalists will pocket 250,000 each. The runners-up will be rewarded with a sum of Kshs 500,000 with the ultimate winner pocketing Kshs 1,000,000. The national finals’ winners will be granted an opportunity to travel to Spain, where they will have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to test their skills against a Spanish club.
