Antonio Conte is not interested in managing Napoli with the club set to fire Rudi Garcia in the coming days.
Reports had emerged last month that the Serie A side wanted to hire the former Tottenham Hotspur boss but the tactician said he wasn’t ready to return to management as he was still enjoying time with his family.
SportItalia (via CN24) have reported that De Laurentiis wanted to go back to Conte and an approach was made late yesterday. But the Napoli CEO faced rejection, despite having promised that Conte’s friend Gianluca Petrachi would get the role of a sporting director at the Partenopei.
Sky Italia (via CN24) report that he has accepted to take over the job on an initial six-month deal, with Corriere dello Sport stating that the move would be finalised tomorrow and made official soon. And quickly enough, Rudi Garcia’s exit from the club will also be announced.
