Guinness, the iconic brand renowned for its passion for football curated an epic matchday event that unfolded at The Edge Convention Centre in Nairobi over the weekend. Over 4,000 football fans were treated to a matchday experience where every little detail had been curated just for them.

An abundance of screens including 3 mega screens meant no one missed a moment of the action, cozy seating kept everyone comfortable all through the games and an array of snack options paired with perfectly chilled Guinness created the ultimate football atmosphere at the Guinness Matchday.

This was a matchday truly made for the fans and by the fans as Guinness collaborated with some of Kenya’s most passionate football fans to bring this to life.

The Guinness Matchday weekend kicked off with the live viewing of Arsenal’s match against Burnley on Saturday closing off with the high-stakes Chelsea Vs Manchester City game on Sunday which had fans on the edge of their seats for the ninety minutes and extra time.

A major highlight was when Robert Mwangi and Timothy Njoga won an all-expense paid trip to watch a live match in England courtesy of Guinness from the Clean Sheet challenge which invited attendees to test their football knowledge. Participating fans kept a “clean sheet” by giving all correct responses to the football trivia led by event host Maina Kageni.

Guinness Marketing Manager Henrietta Reed reiterated the brand’s commitment to football fandom and facilitating experiences that enable fans to rally behind their teams like never before.

“Guinness shares in our football fans’ love for the game, which is what inspired the Epic matchday experience we created this weekend. It was amazing seeing football fans coming together to rally behind their favorite teams and enjoy the space we carefully created for them with the help of our Guinness Matchday committee.

“Our fans got to enjoy some beautiful matchday moments together this weekend and we are committed to doing even more of this, so watch out for what’s to come next on our brand pages,” said Ms. Reed.

The two-day event saw the ambiance at the Edge Center elevated by the eccentric performances by celebrated Kenyan artistes Bien Aime and Fena Gitu with DJs CNG, DJ Dream, Pskratch, Protégé, and Sir M keeping fans on the groove.
