Clarke Oduor scored and provided an assist as Bradford City emerged 5-1 winners over Barnsley in an EFL Trophy game staged on Tuesday night.

Oduor who wasn’t part of coach Engin Firat’s up when Harambee Stars lost and beat Gabon and Seychelles respectively in their first two games of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers played for 82 minutes before being replaced by Adam Ayiro Wilson, the left winger who also have Kenyan roots.

Platt gave Bradford a second-minute lead before Cook doubled their lead 15 minutes later following an assist from Oduor; Smith making it three for the hosts before the halftime break. Richards added a fourth three minutes after the hour mark with Oduor adding the fifth three minutes later. Cotter got the consolation for Barnsley in the 77th minute.

Attention for Oduor and co now shifts to the league where they will be hosting Accrington Stanley; the League Two side currently placed 19th in the 21-team log.

In the same competition, Stars defender Vincent Harper was introduced in the 33rd minute as Exter emerged 1-0 winners over Swindon Town.
