Harry Kane scored the lone goal as Bayern Munich emerged 1-0 winners over Koln in the Bundesliga on Friday night.
The home side were only able to hold on for 20 minutes before a three versus one Bayern break was capped off by Harry Kane tapping home a rebounded save from close range to give the hosts the lead.
The win sees Bayern move back to the top of the Bundesliga, though Bayer Leverkusen are yet to play this weekend.
Kane’s strike extends his lead as the league’s top scorer as Kane poked home after an effort was cleared off the line. It means the summer signing from Tottenham is the highest-scoring Englishman ever in the German top flight and the first player to ever reach 18 goals from the first 12 games of a Bundesliga season.
His goal haul surpasses the 17 notched in a single season by Three Lions’ legend Kevin Keegan and England winger Jadon Sancho. Keegan spent three years in Germany with Hamburg, winning two Ballon d’Ors during that time.
