Inter Milan returned to the top of Serie A following their 3-0 win over Napoli in an entertaining fixture on Sunday.

Visitors Inter had shown their intention from the onset with Marcus Thuram having a goal ruled out for offside. From the scare, Napoli upped the tempo in front of their home fans but it was Inter who broke the deadlock just minutes to half time through Hakan Çalhanoğlu.

Napoli almost restored parity just minutes into the second half with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia seeing his angled drive tipped wide by Sommer. Inter however did make it two just after the hour through Nicolo Barella. After Napoli lost the ball in their own half, Inter benefited, Martinez picking out Barella who danced his way into the box before striking home from close range.

Thuram tapped home from close range after a Juan Cuadrado cross went all the way across the box and to him to seal the points for the Milan side as they went back to the top of the table, two points above Juventus.
