Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje has undergone a successful surgery his club AIK has confirmed.
The player spent the entire year on loan at Finland side KuPS where they missed the title by a whisker with the 20-year-old scooping the young player of the year award at the end of the season where he managed 20 of the 27 league games played.

“AIK announces on its website that the Kenyan underwent an operation for a lower-body injury and the outcome of the operation was successful,” the club announced.
His exploits last season in Finland had seen him get linked with a move to Laliga side Villarreal who were said to be interested in his services come January but that won’t be the case as the player has already started his rehab with the club expecting him to be available for selection when they start their preseason on January 10th, 2024.
The prognosis regarding the injury is that he will be back at AIK’s pre-season camp. The club has two camps planned, one in the Algarve (January 10-January 20) and one in Marbella (January 29-February 10).
The player missed Harambee Stars’ first two games in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers where they were beaten by Gabon and won against Seychelles.
