Brighton and Hove Albion came from a goal down to hold Crystal Palace to a 1-1 draw in a Premier League game staged on Thursday night.
Brighton started strongly but it was the hosts who took the lead through Jordan Ayew at the tail end of the first half. Keeper Verbruggen made a mess of playing out from the back, which led to Michael Olise crossing for Ayew to nod home from close range. The goal made it 22 straight league games in which Brighton have conceded, while their 31 let in is only worsened by the three promoted sides.
The goal seems not to have killed the visitors morale and Lewis Dunk headed over from a Groß cross just after the resumption before keeper Jordan Henderson continued to deny them. But their efforts paid nine minutes from time when they equalised from nowhere. Again it was a Groß cross but this time, substitute Danny Welbeck guided the ball past Henderson to make it 1-1 and 32 straight league games in which Brighton have scored.
The draw saw Brighton move ahead of West Ham on goal difference into eight while Palace remain in 15th, nine points clear of the relegation zone.
