Laliga side Sevilla are closing on the signing of midfielder Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United.
As reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish team is pushing to sign the player and have already agreed on a verbal pact to finalize the deal.
Apart from Sevilla, Premier League side Everton are also interested in the player and have spoken to both the club and the player’s camp. The 20-year-old has also attracted interest from Freiburg and Olympique Lyonnais, however, neither club are in advanced negotiations.
The versatile midfielder has declared Sevilla as his preferred destination and therefore they will sit down with United to discuss the terms of the loan. An option to make the deal permanent is likely to be included in the deal, as well as a buy-back clause.
Hannibal has featured 10 times this season, starting just three matches, and the Evening Standard reports that the Tunisian international is determined to play more first-team football. His last start in any competition was back on November 1, when Newcastle outplayed United at Old Trafford and inflicted an embarrassing 3-0 defeat.
The Tunisia international decided not to participate in AFCON to sort his club’s future, which has significantly aided the progression of the loan deal.
