Kobbie Mainoo scored the winner in stoppage time as Manchester United continued their resurgence with a 4-3 win over Wolves on Thursday night.
United had dominated the earlier proceedings and were rewarded with a pin-point finish by the returning Marcus Rashford just five minutes into the tie. The visitors then doubled their lead through Rasmus Højlund, who bundled home a cross from Luke Shaw to score his third Premier League goal of the season.
Gary O’Neil’s side got their reward in the shape of a penalty which was won by Pedro Neto and scored by Pablo Sarabia to make it 2-1. Substitute Scott McTominay however maintained United’s two-goal lead when he capitalised on some poor marking to head home unopposed from a corner.
Max Kilman made amends for the defensive lapse and pulled another goal back for his side when he tapped home the following a corner with Pedro Neto restoring parity in the sixth minute of stoppage time but Mainoo had other ideas when he took a solo run to drive a dagger of a shot into the bottom right corner and the hearts of the Wolves fans.
In another match of the day, AFC Bournemouth and West Ham fought to a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.
