Bayern Munich needed two second half headed goals from Harry Kane and and Matthijs de Ligt to seal victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Despite their low league position, it was Gladbach who took the front after Nico Elvedi finished off a fine counter attack into Manuel Neuer’s bottom corner.

Bayern struck back on the stroke of half time through Aleksandar Pavlović, who slotted home from a tight angle to score his second in as many games.

Harry Kane gave his side the lead after 70 minutes when he headed home his 24th Bundesliga goal of the season after a spill from Moritz Nicolas.

Defender Matthijs de Ligt then put the away side out of sight late on with a powerful header that clipped the underside of the crossbar.

Bayern remain two points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen whereas Gladbach sit in 13th place.
