A stoppage-time goal by Galeno saw Porto earn a stunning 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Gunners found it difficult to find space to play between the Porto lines, and the hosts tried to hit on the break when they could win the ball back. The hosts fancied the best chance of the first 25 minutes when the ball fell to Galeno from point-blank range, but the attacker rang his shot off the crossbar.
Arsenal kept probing in the second half, but the visitors struggled to find a way past the experienced Porto rearguard. While it looked like the first-leg clash would fizzle out, Galeno stepped up to fire a superb strike into the corner of the net in stoppage time to give Porto a late advantage to take to the Emirates.
In another match of the night, FC Barcelona and Napoli fought to a 1-1 draw in a clash staged in Naples.
Napoli struggled to find any footing in the game, troubling their visitors on very few occasions in the opening 20 minutes but no team was able to get the better of the other in the first half.
The deadlock was finally broken by Robert Lewandowski on the hour mark to silence the home crowd and snatch a vital goal for Barça in the tie. The Barcelona lead would not last however, as Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen got in on the action with a goal of his own to pull the hosts level.
