Sweden’s third-tier side AFC Eskilstuna has confirmed interest in the Kenyan duo of defender Frank Odhiambo and striker Henry Meja ahead of the new season.
Odhiambo is currently in the books of IF Djugarden but the team has no plans of having him for the team and wants to ship him out as they aim to hand him more game time.

Swedish portal E-Kuriren now states that AFC will be doing a double raid at Djugardens where they will be roping in Odhiambo and his teammate Alexandros Garcia Tsotidis.
“We have many fine players and Frank (Odhiambo) was there when we played them (IF Karlstad) so it is clear that there is some interest in him. We have come a long way with Djurgården in that matter, so I hope and believe, but it has been learned in this industry that absolutely nothing is ready until it is,” Mikael Larsson, the club’s Managing Director said.
Larsson further confirmed that the club wants Odhiambo’s countrymate Henry Atola Meja who is in the books of AIK.
“He is sick now. There it is, quietly I shouldn’t say, but he is interested, we are interested and AIK are interested but we haven’t got as far there. But hopefully, he will continue to drive with us when he recovers,” Larsson added.
While Odhiambo represented IF Vasalunds last season on a loan deal, Mejja had a stint with Norrby.
AFC Eskilstuna are currently revamping their squad as they bid to return to Superettan (Swedish second tier) following their relegation to Ettan (third tier) after finishing last in the 2023 season.
