Eric Johanna Omondi provided an assist as UTA Arad went 1-3 down to Hermannstadt in a Romanian Liga I game staged on Friday evening.

Visitors Hermannstadt took a three-goal lead courtesy of a hattrick from Paraschiv whose first goal was from the penalty with hosts Arad pulling one back through Micovschi’s 63rd-minute strike but it did less in altering the outcome of the tie.

In Denmark, Richard Odada was introduced in the 76th minute as AaB went 2-1 down to Hobro in the country’s second tier. While AaB remains top of the table, they will be worried about their position as second-placed SonderjyskE are just three points below them having played a game less.

Still in Denmark, defender Daniel Anyembe managed to play in the entire game as Viborg emerged 3-1 winners away to OB in the country’s top-tier league. The win saw Viborg go top of the table with 30 points; just a point below Randers who have played a game less.

In South Africa, Brian Mandela was left on the bench as Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a 1-1 draw by the University of Pretoria in a Cup game. Sundowns however eliminated their opponents from the competition after a 4-3 win on post-match penalties.
