Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga bagged a brace as Al Duhail beat Al Arabi 3-2 in the Emir Cup on Monday evening.
Arabi had taken a third-minute lead through Yusuf Msakni but Olunga restored matters five minutes later after being put through by Almoez Ali. Msakni wants done yet as he regained his side’s lead in the 10th minute but former Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho ensured that both teams went for the breather on a 2-2 draw.
Olunga was to pop up with what proved to be the winner earlier in the second half with the win sending his side to the semifinals of the Cup competition.
With the league already ending where Duhail failed to defend their title, Olunga will be hoping that he can help his side bag at least a trophy this season as they look to strategize ahead of the new campaign.
