Kenya’s national men’s football team, Harambee Stars, have stagnated in the latest ranking released by the world football governing body FIFA.
Stars have remained at position 108th despite the Under 23 team having an impressive outing in the 2024 COSAFA Senior Challenge Cup where they won against Zambia and Zimbabwe. Despite not changing positions, Stars added 2.73 points to its pointing tally, increasing it from 1195 to 1197.73 points.

Stars opponents in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers and East Africa counterparts Burundi moved a position up from 140 to 139 after adding 0.24 points to increase their points tally to 1091.24. Another East African neighbour Uganda dropped to position 95 but is still the highest-ranked team in the CECAFA region. South Sudan was the other team in the region to drop as they moved from 167 to 169 position.
Sudan at 121, Rwanda at 131 and Ethiopia at 143, just like Kenya, all maintained their positions in the latest rankings.
Djibouti and Somalia remain the region’s lowest-ranked teams, stagnating at 193 and 202 respectively.
