Central defender Salim Hamisi Odeka has cut ties with FKF Premier League club Kakamega Homeboyz following the expiry of his contract, Pepeta can confirm.
In an exclusive interview with Pepeta, Odeka says he’s a free agent and he is ready to have talks with clubs that are interested in his services.
“I have decided to leave Kakamega Homeboyz after my six-month deal with the team expired and I’m no longer part of the squad that is in camp preparing for the new campaign”, the ex-Sony Sugar skipper revealed.

Speaking about if he has offers on the table from other clubs, He says that currently, he hasn’t received any offer from teams and adds on that he is keen to strike a deal with any potential club that will present good terms.
“I haven’t got any inquiry from clubs that are interested in my services but I’m ready to have talks with any side that will present a good deal be it local or across the borders”, he noted.
The 27-year-old joined Homeboyz during the 2023/24 FKFPL mid-season transfer window in February from Tanzania’s Geita Gold FC and now leaves after only after a six-month stint where he appeared in 15 matches for the club in all competitions.
In June, the former Nzoia Sugar stopper held talks with the club management over a potential contract extension however the negotiation collapsed as the two parties failed to agree on the terms of a new deal.
Salim Hamisi Odeka has previously played for Posta Rangers, Kisumu Allstars same to defunct sides like Agro Chemicals FC, Palos, Western Stima and Sony Sugar in Kenya.
