Immediate former FC Talanta head coach Kenneth Kenyatta has been appointed as the new head coach of FKF Premier League club Kakamega Homeboyz FC.

The 55-year-old ex-Kenya international joins Abana Be Ingo and replaces Patrick Odhiambo who left to join league rivals KCB in July and makes a comeback to coaching duties after six months since he was sacked by Talanta.

In a statement released on the club social media handles, Homeboyz say that they are glad to acquire Kenyatta and he’ll take charge of the team in readiness for the upcoming campaign that is tipped to kick off in three weeks’ time.

“We are pleased to announce the arrival of coach Kenneth Kenyatta as our new head coach. Kenyatta takes charge with immediate effect in preparing the team ahead of the season”, the club stated.

Before his appointment, veteran tactician Edward Manoah had been tasked to prepare the 2023 FKF Mozzart Bet Cup winners for the new campaign on an interim basis and a number of coaches were being linked to take the managerial role in the team that has been under a rotation since 2021.

Among the coaches that were on the target for the Western Kenya FKFPL outfit include Nzoia Sugar’s Mike Mururi and former manager Nicholas Muyoti.

The Kakamega based team have already started their preparation for next season and they are currently conducting their training at their base at Kakamega High School.
