“Coastal Union has parted ways with head coach David Ouma after an agreement between the two parties,” part of the communication in Pepeta’s possession noted.
The club further confirmed that Joseph Lazaro and Ngawina Ngawina will be replacing Ouma on an interim basis as they look for a permanent head coach.
“Joseph Lazaro and Ngawina Ngawina are the coaches tasked with leading the team on an interim basis until a permanent coach can be found,” the letter noted.
Union is yet to play a league game this season owing to their participation in the Confederations Cup where they lost 3-0 to Angola’s FC Bravos in the first leg of the First Qualifying Round; the Tanzania side is set to host the second leg on Sunday 25th August at the Chamazi Complex.
The team which hosts the Kenyan duo of John Makwatta and Abdalla Hassan will open the league with a tie against KMC on August 29th, 2024.
