The all-important goal of the game was bagged by Michael Baidoo in the 44th minute from the penalty spot with the win being a major boost for them in the competition after opening their group with a 3-2 loss to AZ last week.
Elfborg will host Sirius this weekend in the Allsvenskan before the players can be released for their respective national teams.
On the other hand, Wilson managed to feature for 82 minutes as Saints went 0-2 down to Serie A side Fiorentina in the UEFA Conference League.
Saints had done well by holding the hosts to a scoreless draw in the first half but quickfire goals from Adli and Kean in a span of four minutes turned the tie in favour of the hosts.
Attention for Wilson now turns to their weekend tie against Briton Ferry on Sunday before leaving his side to join the Harambee Stars camp which is set to face Cameroon in a double header next week.
