The New Saints (TNS) strengthened their grip at the top of the JD Cymru Premier with a commanding 2-0 victory over Bala Town at Maes Tegid. The win saw them extend their lead to 12 points.
Adam Wilson, the Kenyan winger, played a crucial role in the match before being substituted in the 80th minute. His attacking threat was evident early on when he drove forward from the halfway line and unleashed a long-range effort that narrowly missed the target. Wilson’s pace and technical ability provided an additional attacking dimension for TNS throughout the game.

The defending champions wasted no time in asserting their authority, with Leo Smith scoring just 13 seconds after kickoff. Jordan Williams’ incisive run down the left resulted in a pinpoint cross that Smith converted at the back post, giving TNS a dream start.
Bala Town attempted to respond in the 17th minute when George Newell’s header off a Lassana Mendes cross was cleared off the line by Harrison McGahey. Two minutes later, Wilson surged forward and tested the Bala defense, showcasing his ability to drive at opponents.
TNS remained in control, and despite several missed chances, they sealed the victory in the 75th minute when Jordan Williams found the net with a well-placed chip from a tight angle. The home side’s goalkeeper, Joel Torrance, kept the scoreline respectable with a series of crucial saves, including a brilliant one-handed stop to deny substitute Rory Holden in the closing minutes.
With this victory, The New Saints registered their ninth consecutive league win and remain on course for yet another title. They now shift focus to the Nathaniel MG Cup final against Aberystwyth Town, set to take place at Latham Park on February 28th.
