Kenyan defender Zak Vyner played the entire match as Bristol City secured a 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough in an entertaining English Championship encounter at Ashton Gate.
Vyner, a key figure in the Robins’ 3-man backline, helped his team claim all three points in a hard-fought battle that saw George Earthy score twice in the second half to complete a comeback.

Middlesbrough started strongly, with Tommy Conway putting the visitors ahead in the 37th minute. However, City responded in the second half, with substitute Earthy making an instant impact. He netted the equalizer after linking up with fellow substitute Yu Hirakawa before scoring the winner after a free-kick from Scott Twine struck the woodwork.
Bristol City’s resilience was evident, and their defensive solidity, marshalled by Vyner, Tanner and Dickie ensured they held onto their lead until the final whistle.
Vyner played the full 90 minutes, providing stability at the heart of Bristol City’s defence rating of 7.4; one of the best ratings for a Bristol City player in the match as per flash score ratings.
The defender who has so far played 34 league matches will be hoping to continue the good run when Bristol City return to action on Tuesday, March 4th, when they travel to face Millwall.
