Kenyan defender Zak Vyner was on the scoresheet as Bristol City claimed a 2-0 win over Millwall at The Den in the English Championship played on Tuesday night.

Bristol City started the match brightly, with Mark Sykes and Sinclair Armstrong causing early problems for Millwall’s defense with their pace. The hosts had an early scare when Scott Twine played a short corner to George Earthy, who fired a low shot that forced a quick save from Lukas Jensen.

City continued pressing, and Armstrong was denied after a well-timed run, while Max Bird tested Jensen with a powerful strike from the edge of the area.

Millwall had their first opportunity when Japhet Tanganga’s cross found Tristan Crama, but his header went straight into Max O’Leary’s gloves. Just before halftime, Twine controlled Vyner’s long ball superbly and unleashed a powerful shot from distance, but Jensen denied him once again.

Bristol City broke the deadlock eight minutes after the restart. A corner from Bird caused havoc in the Millwall defense, and Vyner reacted quickest to the loose ball, firing home from close range to put City ahead. In the 69th minute, Manning made his first changes, introducing Cornick and Haydon Roberts for Armstrong and Sykes. Sam Bell later replaced Cam Pring in the 77th minute, and Joe Williams came on for Twine in the final moments.

City doubled their lead in the 83rd minute. Jensen saved Bell’s initial effort, but Cornick was in the right place to slot home the rebound, sealing all three points for the visitors.

The win marked back-to-back clean sheets and consecutive victories for City, a feat they last achieved at the end of December. With momentum on their side, Bristol City will now prepare to welcome Hull City to Ashton Gate on March 8th as they aim to extend their winning streak.
