Former AFC Leopards striker Arthur Gitego has moved to Mozambique where he has signed a one-year deal with Ferraviaro de Beira.

Gitego had a patchy relationship with Leopards in his last months in Kenya with both parties agreeing to end their relationship last month on mutual consent.

In an interview with the Times of Rwanda, the Rwandese believes the lessons he picked during his time at the den will be valuable in his new station.

“It’s a good thing for me to come back and show the quality. I have had great experience and lessons from Kenya and I want to be back to the big stage where I used to be,” Gitego revealed.

Gitego further admitted that he would have to give his best in a team he described as very big and one that would offer pressure.

“It’s a very big team of course and you can feel a lot of pressure because of the fans but I hope I’ve got expertise from my last outing to show,” he added.

Gitego has wasted no time in showing his new employers what he can do as he bagged a goal in his debut as his club ran 3-0 winners over Clube Desportivo on Sunday.

He becomes the second Rwandese to feature for the club after Patrick Sibomana who was in the books of Beira before leaving for Libya’s Al Wahda.
