South Africa Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants Kaizer Chiefs are in talks with Tanzania Premier League side Azam FC for the services of Feisal ‘Toto’ Salum.

The SouthAfrican reports that Feisal would have completed the move down South last month but the prize tag slapped on him by Azam has extended the negotiations. The tabloid states that Azam has set a price tag of R7 million ($386k).

Chiefs are expected to intensify their efforts to finalise the deal despite the hurdles with the 27-year-old being one of the most sought-after midfielder in the continent having previously been in the books of Yanga SC.

Salum was the league’s second top scorer last season and has continued his impressive form in the 2024/2025 campaign there had been reports earlier in the year that Yanga’s arch-rivals Simba SC were interested in his services.

While there is no official bid that has been submitted yet, it is reported that coach Nabi wants to add another midfielder despite already signing Thabo Cele.

Nasreddine Nabi’s history with Feisal Salum could play a significant role in the transfer saga. The two previously worked together at Young Africans, where Salum flourished under Nabi’s guidance.
