Harambee Stars goalkeeper Ian Otieno has expressed his delight in Harambee Stars playing at home after two years of playing home games away from home.
Kenya is set to host Gabon today in a crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match at Nyayo National Stadium an according to the Richards Bay shot-stopper, playing at home will give them the extra push as they play in front of their fans.

“The fact that we are playing at home gives us an extra push going into the game. I think everyone is ready. We are equally happy to be back home because we’ve been playing away for a while. We look forward to the fans and the support of the home crowd. Just like any other day, we are going to give it our best,” the South Africa-based goalkeeper said.
Otieno, who started in Kenya’s thrilling 3-3 draw against The Gambia in Ivory Coast saving a penalty and making a good number of reflexes in the dying minutes of the game, is expected to retain his spot in goal for today’s encounter. His experience will be crucial as Harambee Stars seek to secure an important victory in their World Cup qualification campaign.
With the backing of a full house at Nyayo Stadium, Kenya will be aiming to capitalize on home advantage and put on a strong performance against Gabon to mark Coach Benni McCarthy’s tenure on home ground with a win.
