Former Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has officially parted ways with Sudanese giants Al Merrikh.

The Serbian tactician has been in charge of the club for just four months after replacing Giovanni Solinas, at the start of the year.

The Red Devils now compete in Mauritania’s Super D1 due to political unrest in Sudan, but have struggled for form this campaign, currently languishing in sixth position. This past weekend marked their fourth consecutive match without a win, with three losses in that run; the most recent of which came on Friday in a 1-0 defeat to SNIM.

That result was the final straw for the club’s chiefs, as the sharp downturn in form led to the sacking of the 55-year-old Micho.

Micho had overseen 10 matches for the 19-time Sudan Premier League champions and, despite expectations of a turnaround alongside highly regarded assistant Dusan Stojanovic, managed only four wins, two draws, and four losses.

While poor results have been alleged as the main reason why the two parties have terminated their relationship, Micho informed Soccer Laduma that the reason for his departure is due to nonpayment.
