Manchester United have sent an official bid to RB Leipzig for striker Benjamin Sesko as they seek to boost their strike force ahead of the new season.
The striker who is a target for Newcastle United too has expressed his interest in moving to the Premier League with the Magpies said to have made a higher bid earlier.

The Athletics through David Ornstein now reports that United have now registered a formal offer worth an initial €75m, with a further €10m dependent on add-ons.
Despite the offer falling short of Newcastle’s proposal, The Athletic are reporting that there is confidence from the Old Trafford side as they believe they are Sesko’s preferred destination, despite the absence of European football for next season.
Leipzig are yet to respond to either offer from the Premier League sides. The German outfit did reject Newcastle’s initial approach, worth €80m, earlier in the window.
Sesko has emerged as the top target for both teams in their centre-forward search. The 22-year-old has scored 39 goals in 87 appearances since joining Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023 and has been a long-term target for English clubs.
