Kenya’s President William Ruto ahs made a new promise to the national team Harambee Stars ahead of their next Group match against Zambia.

Ruto had promised the team a winning bonus of Ksh 1Million to each player for every win and KSh 50000 for every draw before the start of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

Each player has already pocketed Ksh 2.5 Million from the wins against DR Congo and Morocco and a draw against Angola and the President has come up with a new promise after visiting the team on Monday morning in their camp.
In the new promise, ahead of their upcoming clash against Zambia, each player and members of the technical bench will pocket Sh2.5 million if they secure a win on Sunday, August 17.

“Sunday, I want us to have a new deal. God willing, we are winning. If we win, each person will get Sh2.5 million, including the technical bench,” Ruto said in the visit.

The president also promised additional rewards for the team if they win their quarter-finals where each of them will get Sh1 million reward and a house under the affordable housing programme.

“For the quarters, if we win, on top of the Sh1 million, I will add the affordable housing you have asked for,” he added.

Stars are currently on top of Group A with seven points and are a draw away from making it to the quarterfinals of the competition.
