Tanzania Premier League giants Simba SC, home to Kenyan international Mohamed Bajaber, is set to unveil Dimitar Pantev as their new manager.

Simba have been looking for a manager to replace Fadlu Davids who has since moved to Raja Casablanca and reports have now reveals that they will settle on Bulgarian Pantev who resigned on Friday from his post as the Gaborone United head coach.

“Coach Pantev has informed the club of his intention to pursue a new opportunity in his coaching career, and after discussions with management, Gaborone United has respectfully granted his request. This morning, the coach bid farewell to the players and staff at the club’s training ground,” the club said in a statement.

The Bulgarian led the Botswana giants in the first preliminary round of the Champions League where they lost 2-1 on aggregate to exit the competition. The first leg in Gaborone ended 1-0 in favour of Simba before the return leg in Tanzania ended in a 1-1 draw.

There had been reports that Simba had approached Miguel Gamondi from Singida Black Stars but his club refused to release him as they seek to challenge the big boys in the Tanzania Premier League.

The Msimbazi Reds remained coachless at the start of the season after parting ways with Davids with Tanzania national team coach Hemed Suleiman having been appointed to lead the team on a temporary basis.
