Mathare United manager Salim Ali is expecting his side to improve when they take on Zoo FC at the Kasarani Annex on Monday afternoon.
Mathare has lost their first two games (against Sofapaka and Gor Mahia) and while admitting that he expected the team to struggle as they are behind schedule, Ali believes his side his side are getting better day by day.

“We haven’t been at the races so far in terms of match fitness. This has been our undoing in those tight situations in matches. But we are slowly getting to the level where we can compete and I expect to see huge improvement against Zoo.
“To be honest, I expected this. We have been disadvantaged with the lack of a proper pre-season and having to play teams that have played five or so matches more than us. The first few games were always going to be tough as we were also using them as our pre-season,” Ali is quoted by the club’s media team.
Mathare are still unbeaten against Zoo and will be looking to maintain that form when they meet at 3pm.
