Tusker FC duo of Rodgers Aloro and Boniface Muchiri has admitted that they are under pressure to maintain their top spot ahead of the June 30 deadline set by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
FKF indicated last week that the team at the top of the Kenyan Premier League table by the date will represent the country in the next season’s CAF Champions League and according to midfielder Rodgers Aloro, they are ready to contain the pressure that comes with being at the top of the table.

“We needed to get back to winning ways in our last game (against KCB FC) but the point was a bonus. There is a lot of pressure when you are on top of the league but we have been there for a while so it means that we can contain whatever comes our way. We are ready for the task ahead,” Aloro said.
On his part Muchiri said:” We didn’t expect the draw against CB because we wanted to extend our lead at the top and we have to do more in the coming games. Yes, there is pressure but that only pushes us to work hard.”

The Brewers are set to take Wazito in their next game and Aloro believes they stand a better chance than their opponents since they beat them in the reverse fixture despite calling for an urgent speed in attack if they are to get a result.
“We ate heading into the game with confidence since we beat them in the first leg. We just need to be calmer infront of goal and be clinical. There is need for more impetus on our attacking speed and I believe we will come out victorious,” Aloro added.
We have been having some good support from the management and as a team we encourage ourselves too,” Muchiri said. ” We took a long time in coming back into action but we have trained well this week for the Wazito game and I’m positive about the tie.”
Tusker will be up against Wazito on Friday with the first leg having ended in a 1-0 score line in favor of the brewers; Jackson Macharia coming off the bench to score the all-important goal.
