With the year soon to end, teams across Europe are drawing their transfer plans to boost their sides in the short January window.

With the likes of Eric Ouma and his Swedish counterparts having already wrapped their season, it’s that time again of the year when players who would like moves are in conversations with their agents to find new homes. According to statistics from transfermarkt.com, Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga is currently the most expensive player in the country. The Al Duhail striker is valued at €9m (Apprx. KES 1.1B). He is followed closely by Gent defender Joseph Okumu who is worth €6m (Appx. KES 756M). Closing the top three is former Stars captain Victor Wanyama who is worth €3.5m (Appx. KES 441M). AIK’s Eric Ouma is fourth with a market worth of €1.8m (Appx. KES 226M) to close the million Euro mark for Kenyan players.

Buriram’s Ayub Timbe, Sundowns Brian Mandela, and AIK’s Collins Shichenje are all worth €400k (Appx. KES 50M). Masud Juma €350k (KES.44M), Erik Johanna and Clarke Oduor, and Richard Odada are both at €300k (KES.37M), with the most expensive local based player being Tusker FC goalkeeper Patrick Matasi who is worth €150k (Appx KES. 18M).
