The Football Kenya Federation through CEO Barry Otieno and the Head of Competitions Doreen Nabwire met with officials from Dimba Patriots, Mayenje Santos, APS Bomet, Kona Rangers, and Royal Starlet to discuss the way forward on the promotion and demotion impasse.
The teams believe that they should be playing in a tier higher than what they have been subjected to by the FKF National Executive Council (NEC) officials who considered last season null and void.

APS Bomet and Fortune Saco earned a promotion to the FKF Premier League while Kona Rangers, Mayenje Santos, and Dimba Patriots earned a promotion to the National Super League with Royal Starlets getting promoted to the Kenya Women Premier League but their celebrations were cut short after NEC considered last season null as it was played when the country was under suspension by FIFA.
In the meeting, FKF was looking for an out-of-court settlement in a way to get everyone working together but the teams asked Otieno and Nabwire to reconsider the NEC’s move by upholding the promotion of their clubs. They went ahead to propose an expansion of the various league for the teams they claimed were promoted procedurally since they had used resources to earn their place in the respective leagues.
On their end, FKF through Otieno insisted that NEC didn’t promote or demote any team and advised the teams not to be in situations that would put them in jeopardy or relegation should FKF win their court case.
Dimba Patriots, Mayenje Santos, and Kona Rangers stated that they will not register or participate in any competition and termed the fixtures released by FKF as illegal. Murang’a Seal and Royal Starlet confirmed that they will honor games in the National Super League as allocated by FKF with APS Bomet asking for more time for consultations before making a decision.
