Harambee Stars trialist Wilkims Ochieng is set to move to Slovenia top tier side FC Koper according to reports emanating from the country.

Pepeta exclusively reported on Tuesday that the former Club Brugge youth player was trying out with Belgium third tier side Patro Eisden Maasmechelen and even featured in a friendly match for them three days ago but it seems he has had a change of mind on where he wants to play next.

According to Slovenia Post English, the player is expected to sign for the side in the coming days with only medical tests standing between him and signing for the team.

“According to our information, the cup champions are close to signing a contract with the young Kenyan Wilkims Ochieng,” the portal noted. “He is a winger who also has a Belgian passport and received his football education at the academy Club Brugge, with whom he also regularly played in the youth Champions League.

“The 19-year-old is currently a free footballer, he last played for the Belgian second division Club NXT. Only a medical examination separates him from signing a contract with Koper.”

Ochieng was handed a call up by Harambee Stars ehad coach Engin Firat in 2021. He was one of the new faces that Firat included in his squad for formality World Cup qualification matches against Rwanda and Uganda in November 2021 even though he didn’t feature in any.
