AFC Leopards manager Patrick Aussems was a disappointed man after his side could only manage a draw against Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji derby on Sunday.

Leopards who have only conceded a goal in their last four games came into the match on the back of three wins after some shaky outings and the Belgian felt they could have gone home with three points if they were to take their chances.

“We are disappointed because we had the best opportunities. They didn’t get any opportunities except maybe on-set pieces. When you are not able to win you have to fight not to lose. Its another clean sheet and we’ve only conceded one goal in the last four games so it’s a good point but I’m disappointed because I feel we deserved the three points,” the Belgian said in his post-match interview.

He further admitted that they were not efficient in attack despite hailing his defence for being effective in their recent games.

“We have a problem with efficiency in front of goal but the goalkeeper also made two good saves so we need to do more in the attack. The most important thing is we are creating chances. Fixtures are coming fast and thick and we will have to rotate because freshness is key with these games because I have a group of 20 players (and I have to ensure I manage fatigue),” he added.

Next for AFC Leopards is a rescheduled league fixture against Vihiga Bullets who gave a walkover against Sofapaka on Saturday.
