Gor Mahia will remain at the top of the FKF Premier League table despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Ulinzi Stars in their clash staged at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday 18th February 2023.

Gor had come into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 4-0 win over Wazito FC in midweek and despite Ulinzi enjoying a lion’s share of the earlier exchanges, they were to take the lead in the 14th minute when an Ulinzi defender misjudged a pass to divert the ball into his own net as Gor Mahia raced to a 1-0 lead at the break.

Ulinzi were to wait until the 75th minute to restore parity when Masita Masuta, who had won a free kick, was to head in a Boniface Muchiri resultant kick past Gad Mathews after the Gor defense failed to track him.

In other games of the day, Nzoia Sugar will blame themselves for not capitalizing on the Gor Mahia draw after being held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Posta Rangers at Sudi Grounds.

Nzoia had taken the lead through Joseph Mwangi who notched his sixth goal of the season in the 18th minute but William Odero restored parity for the Joseph Kamau side in the 38th minute as both teams headed to the break tied on a 1-1 draw.

In the second half, Nzoia had the chance to win the game after winning a penalty in the 57th minute but Boniface Kweyu missed his kick with Rangers holding on for a precious point away from home.
