Immediate former Vihiga Bullets head coach George Owoko has joined FKF Division One side Balaji FC on a rolling contract.
Owoko who left the Vihiga-based clubs due to their financial constraints and reasons he says were beyond his capabilities has already led the team to their first win of the season despite not kicking a ball after being handed a walkover.

“Yes, I am currently with Balaji,” Owoko said after Pepeta asked about his new station. “This is another chance to do what I love most which is coaching and I believe I can bring my experience here and help them achieve their goals this season.”
Asked about his contract situation with the team, Owoko added:” I wanted a rolling contract with the team and that’s what they gave me. I know they haven’t started the season well but I’m happy with the reception I have been accorded in the few days I have been here and I know we are going to do better in the coming games.”
Balaji was handed three points over the weekend after their hosts Malindi Progressive failed to provide an ambulance for the game on time forcing the match commissioner to award a walkover for the visitors.
There are reports that the decision didn’t go well with the home side who then attacked the match commissioner for his decision with the move having been reported to the Football Kenya Federation for action.
