FKF Premier League side Police FC have confirmed the signing of defender Abud Omar for an undisclosed period.

The left back joins the club as a free agent having been without a club since July 2023 after ending his association with Greek side AE Larissa where he had been for one year.

It will be the first time since 2015 that Abud will be representing a club in the Kenyan top flight after doing so with Tusker FC in his last stint here; the player having represented Admiral FC and Bandari FC in Kenya. Pepeta has learned that the player had been courted by Bandari FC before moving to Police but both parties couldn’t agree on a fee.

The experienced left-back has traversed Europe in his career with his first stint away from home coming with Greek side Panegialios in 2015. After a year in Greece, he was to be signed by Bulgarian giants Slavia Sofia before moving to Belgium where Cercle Brugge signed him. He was to represent Sepsi OSK in the same country in 2020 before returning to Greece where Ionikos Nikeas acquired his services before ditching them for Larisa.

He joins a Police side who are currently placed sixth on the log with 28 points with Abud hoping that he can make his debut for the law enforcers against Scarlet FC in the FKF Cup on Sunday.

While he will fighting for the position with David Owino, he arrives with Police said to have released five players to create space for other players.
