AFC Leopards were 1-0 winners over Wazito FC in a drama filed FKF Premier League game staged at the MISC Kasarani on Thursday 9th March 2023.
After City Stars and Mathare United had dropped points in their respective games, Wazito had hoped to get a favorable result in their relegation fight but things went didn’t go out as planned as Kelvin Wesonga headed into his own net in the 32nd minute to give AFC Leopards the lead.

But drama ensued in the coming minutes when the referee pointed to the spot after Maxwell Otieno had been brought down in the box but after protests from the Wazito players, the referee reversed the decision for a 1-0 score line at the break.

If that wasn’t enough, Wazito FC chairman Moses Adagala stormed the pitch at the break and was escorted out of the main ground by the match stewards into the changing room with his players refusing to come out for the second half.
Convincing the Wazito players to resume the game took over 20 minutes but when they came back, they gave a better performance in the second half but couldn’t get the elusive goal to earn them a point in the game.
The win takes Leopards to the fifth spot with 32 points, six points behind arch-rivals and leaders Gor Mahia with Wazito remaining second from bottom on 10 points.
