FKF Premier League leaders Gor Mahia have been ordered to pay former player Sando Yangayay Sando a sum of KES 1.O32M for unfair dismissal.

The duo took the club to FIFA with the world body preventing K’Ogalo from signing players until they sorted the players’ dues; Sando being the latest player to win his case against the Kenyan giants.

Sando was signed as a free agent in September 2021 together with keeper Adama Keita but the duo was dismissed a year later despite signing an initial two-year deal each; dismissals they said were illegal.

A letter from FIFA by Emilio Garcia Silvero, the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, read in part:” Decision of the Dispute resolution Chamber

  1. The claim of the claimant, Sando Yangayay Sando, is partially accepted.
  2. The respondent, Gor Mahia, has to pay to the claimant the following amounts;

USD 8000 as an outstanding remuneration plus 5% interest p.a as follows;

On the amount of USD 4000, as from 1 October 2022 until the date of effective payment

On the amount of USD 4000 as from 1 November 2022 until the date of effective payment.

The decision comes just a week after another former player in Wellington Ochieng snapped the club’s bus through auctioneers as he is demanding Kshs. 1.3M from Gor Mahia as money owed to him by the club.
