Tusker FC beat AFC Leopards 1-0 in round 22 of FKF Premier League action to close the gap between them and Gor Mahia to four points.
But while everyone has been talking about the Brewer’s title defence after the win, their coach Robert Matano has insisted that they are not concentrating on any team but their own efforts as they aim to win their games despite terming the Wednesday win as massive.

“We wanted to win so that we can move forward in the league. It (win against AFC Leopards) is a massive win because we wanted to close the gap between us and Gor Mahia but we are not playing for Gor Mahia or to close the gap, we are playing to win our games and keep our trophy,” Matano said in his post match conference.
On the game against Leopards, the tactician said they expected a tough match against the Patrick Aussems side and was glad that they could pick the three points at the end of the game.
“We expected a tough match (against AFC Leopards) and that’s what they gave us but we planned so well for it and Im glad the boys played as we’ve been training. Leopards is a strong team, they have good players with a tactical coach but we controlled every department today and Im glad we finally got the goal,” Matano added.
Stewart Omondi scored the all important goal in stoppage time after coming off the bench with the win now putting them closer to Gor who has played a game more than them.
